Advance Your Flute Playing With This Versatile Key

Listen To The Deep Tones Of Our Premiere F# Flute

Our Premiere Native American style F sharp flute is sought after for its low and soothing voice. It is the natural progression from the key of G flute, or a wonderful first flute for a player with larger hands. Professional musicians and novice flute plyers both agree that this flutes lower voice is just what the song called for. Lower in pitch than both the A and the G flutes, it is often desired for having a deeper voice which many people are drawn to.

Tuning and Size

The Specs : Tuning and Measurements

Our flutes are tuned to the universal standard 440hz which means that they are compatible with most other concert tuned instruments. They feature a pentatonic minor scale buy play the major scale and many other scales as well! Don’t know what that means? Don’t worry, they come with instructions that include pictures so you don’t need to read music to play these flutes.

Our Premiere Native American F# (the # symbol represents a Sharp sign in musical notation) flute is tuned to the pentatonic minor scale in the key of F# which means the highest and lowest notes on this flute will play the key of F# (not including overblow notes). These are medium sized flutes measuring 24 inches long with a 7/8 inch bore. The fingering holes are (from center to center) approximately 1 1/8 inch apart. The distance from the mouth end of the flute to the first finger hole is approximately 10 ¾ inches. This is the lowest key I recommend for beginner flute players. It has a larger finger stretch, especially on the bottom three holes, than our G and A flutes. This key of flute is suitable for most adults with large or flexible hands. Adults who have played other instruments are usually successful playing flutes in this key because of their improved dexterity.
