Find your inner calm with our western red cedar Native American style E flute. Let the deep, meditative tones of the flute sooth your nerves and slow your busy mind. This wood which is sacred to many indigenous peoples, lends a wonderful resonance to the voice of the flute. It is light in weight which allows the notes to send subtle vibrations through the wood which can be felt in the hands and chest. Rich red brown in color, this flute has a smooth finish and smells faintly of the aromatic wood it is made from.

I chose greens and purples for the hand woven cotton wrapping to accentuate the color of the wood.
Our signature animal shaped block made from laminated pieces of cedar, is securely held in place with a durable piece of black elk leather.
You won’t regret bringing this intermediate level flute home!

Our Native American style E flutes have a deep and full voice. Scroll through the photos to find a video and listen to the flute for yourself! I think you will agree, they sound amazing. They are made in a 1 inch bore diameter which is larger around than our A, G, and F# flutes. They are also longer at 26 inches and have a finger hole spacing that is more difficult to reach than our higher pitched flutes. That makes this key of flute better suited for someone who has some prior flute playing experience. If you can comfortably play an F# flute and the spacing of the lowest three holes doesn’t bother your hands, you will likely be able to play our E flutes with no issues. As always, if you receive a flute that is too large to play, we are happy to help you exchange for a smaller key, so you can buy with the confidence of knowing that we have you covered!

Measurements

This flute has a 1 inch bore diameter and is about 26 inches long, about 11 and 1/2 inches from the mouth end to the middle of the first fingering hole. The holes are about 1 1/4 inches apart from center to center.

Add extra details by wood burning, painting, staining, and inlaying stones into these cutouts. We’ve done the precise groove milling, so these are ready for your creativity to take flight!
The groove in these blocks milled to a 7/16ths inch width which is perfect for all three of our flutes making kits as well as any Premiere or Beginner flute in the keys of A, G, F#, F, E. You can double check with me before purchasing or measure your existing flute to make sure the width of the sound hole matches the 7/16” wide groove in these blocks. Some stellar flutes in D, C, and B will also use this size of block, but it is best to ask before buying!

When sold separately these blocks will come with a piece of leather for tying the block on, when added to a kit order, they only come with extra leather upon request since the kits already come with leather.
