Our Native American style flutes have been used by Tribes, schools and groups for the last decade to bring communities together, educate, and aid in PTSD and addiction recovery. We decided it was time to offer a specialized package designed just for that purpose.
This wonderful instrument is particularly good for people new to music. It features a simple scale that is ideal for improvising and has a soothing voice that calms the nerves and lifts the spirit. Using the included written lessons and follow along video tutorials, the class will quickly and easily learn to play the flute. The benefit doesn't stop there though, with the student PDF at home guide, class participants will be able to confidently play their flutes at home should your organization choose to give the students the flutes. Alternatively, the flutes can be cleaned using rubbing alcohol and reused in future classes. The best part? The teacher will learn the content of the PDF guide and feel even more confident to teach the next class! This project is repeatable and infinitely expandable!

Flute key and age of participants
Which flute package to choose for your group
We offer two packages, one in the key of A which is a smaller sized flute and one in the key of G which is a little larger.
I recommend the key of A package for 9-10 year olds or for adults with smaller hands, or older adults with arthritis.
The key of G is suitable for everyone else. You will likely find that children and teens have better hand and finger flexibility than adults.

Why are these flutes ideal entry level instruments?
This simple and beautiful instrument is ideal for any level of musical skill from an absolute beginner to a world renowned performer. The 5 note pentatonic minor scale can be learned without the need to read music and once it is mastered the notes can be played in any order to create beautiful and original songs from the heart.
The flute is not limited by the 5 note scale, it can play the familiar diatonic (major scale) and a full chromatic scale. With the included fingering chart, each student can advance at their own pace.

I bought this flute to play it at my mom's celebration of life and release ceremony at Mt. Rainier, Washington. I hoped to learn to play a few notes of a simple song in about 6 weeks. So far, I practice a little bit each day and I am making good progress. My hands are small but I can reach all the holes. It really helps to practice in front of the mirror so you can see your finger placement. It's all about using the right breath and covering the holes well. When that happens the flute sounds beautiful. Just like I hoped it would. It's going to be a beautiful ceremony with the lovely sounds of this flute.
