Want something a little more unique? Meet our knotty flutes! These beauties are Basic western red cedar Native American style flutes with beautiful knots. Each of these flutes are strikingly different, in the pictures I have some examples of what the knots might look like, but you will not see your specially selected flute until it arrives. The photos are only examples, not the actual flute you will receive.

These knots are stabilized, sometimes have bold, filled cracks through them, and usually make the surrounding grain swirl in interesting ways. In the past these unique flutes would all be made into Premieres because knots make the flutes more difficult to shape,  but we decide to release some as Basics well. Inventory is limited, so hurry and buy one before they are gone!

Basic Flute Key of G

I bought this flute to play it at my mom's celebration of life and release ceremony at Mt. Rainier, Washington. I hoped to learn to play a few notes of a simple song in about 6 weeks. So far, I practice a little bit each day and I am making good progress. My hands are small but I can reach all the holes. It really helps to practice in front of the mirror so you can see your finger placement. It's all about using the right breath and covering the holes well. When that happens the flute sounds beautiful. Just like I hoped it would. It's going to be a beautiful ceremony with the lovely sounds of this flute.

I wrote a song on this flute called Sparrow Mountain. I’d love to learn more about Bass Flutes.
Maybe I can get one someday. I play both my Stellar glutes every day and it makes me happy
