It is made from a lighter piece of western red cedar which contrasts with the dark walnut inlayed center spline. With two separate mouth holes, you can play it as a single flute or a drone. This flute is 22 3/4 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide. It has a 7/8 inch bore diameter.
The first fingering hole is 10 1/2 inches down from the mouth end.

Native American Drone flutes, sometimes called "double" flutes, are just that, THey are two flutes that are joined together. One side player like a normal flute and the other side plays one or more harmony notes. All of our drones have two blowholes so you can play as a single flute or play both sides together. They also feature an optional drone side hole with an included decorative plug so you can have two different options for harmony notes.
Drone flutes are harder to play because they require more air (two slow air chambers!) and they are wider than normal native flutes. This flute would be best suited to someone who has a little experience playing Native flutes, or someone who has played other instruments.
