Handmade from a warm brown piece of western red cedar this flute features a walnut inlayed spline. It has two mouth holes, allowing you to play one or both sides of the flute. The drone hole is conveniently located on the left side, making it an ideal choice for players who use their left hand for the lower three holes.
This flute is 23 1/2 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide. It has a 7/8 inch bore diameter.
The first fingering hole is 10 3/4 inches down from the mouth end.
The top three fingering holes are spaced 1 inch center to center, the lowest three fingering holes are spaced 1 1/4 inches and 1 1/2 inches apart.

Native American Drone flutes, sometimes called "double" flutes, are just that, THey are two flutes that are joined together. One side player like a normal flute and the other side plays one or more harmony notes. All of our drones have two blowholes so you can play as a single flute or play both sides together. They also feature an optional drone side hole with an included decorative plug so you can have two different options for harmony notes.
Drone flutes are harder to play because they require more air (two slow air chambers!) and they are wider than normal native flutes. This flute would be best suited to someone who has a little experience playing Native flutes, or someone who has played other instruments.
