This flute is made out of a light colored piece of western red cedar that has had a homemade stain applied to darken the wood. The stain interacts with the tannins in the wood to darken it as it dries, each flute accepts the stain differently. This flute is light weight. Its voice is very deep with a full quality to it.

Measurements

This flute is 28 1/4 inches long with a 1 1/4 inch bore diameter. It's 12 inches from the mouth end to the center of the first fingering hole. The fingering holes are clustered in sets of three to make them easier to play, with the first set being spaced 1 inch apart center to center and the second set being 1 3/8 inches apart center to center. there is a 2 inch gap between the first cluster of holes and the second.
