Flutes in this key, the key of A, are a wonderful choice for beginner flute players because of their size. They are one of the smaller flutes that we offer. The finger hole spacing is comfortable for most hand sizes and the overall length of the flute feels manageable for most people.
This 6 hole flute is tuned the universal standard 440 hz concert tuning and features a pentatonic minor scale ( the most common scale for modern Native American flutes). With the guidance of the booklet, you can learn to play many other scales on this flute which make use of all 6 holes.
This flute is about 21 ½ inches long, 9 ½ inches from the mouth end to first hole, and the holes are 1 inch apart center to center.

Add extra details by wood burning, painting, staining, and inlaying stones into these cutouts. We’ve done the precise groove milling, so these are ready for your creativity to take flight!
The groove in these blocks milled to a 7/16ths inch width which is perfect for all three of our flutes making kits as well as any Premiere or Beginner flute in the keys of A, G, F#, F, E. You can double check with me before purchasing or measure your existing flute to make sure the width of the sound hole matches the 7/16” wide groove in these blocks. Some stellar flutes in D, C, and B will also use this size of block, but it is best to ask before buying!
When sold separately these blocks will come with a piece of leather for tying the block on, when added to a kit order, they only come with extra leather upon request since the kits already come with leather.

My new flute came in today no Issues on time and well packed this is my third flute from Stellar and when I opened the box this Redwood flute is Absolutely stunning the dark red the pitchers don't do it justice I have played it with and without affects and the voice is beautiful and that goes with all my flutes from Stellar and I liked to give a shout out to Lily on the wrapping what a personal and beautiful touch and looking at it not easy, Thanks to everyone at Stellar for your detail looking forward to my next flute.
I am new to Native American flutes and honestly hooked. I love the weight, easy to play, and tone of this flute. I teach yoga and often times start class with singing bowls, i have moved to my flute and have received many comments from the students about how they love the sound of a live flute.
