Meet our Pre Tuned Native American style A flute making kit.
This is a beginner to intermediate level carving kit tuned to the key of A with a bright and cheerful voice. 

The kit includes a unshaped, fully playable, western red cedar A flute, a flat block base, a larger carving block, a leather strap, and a booklet with instructions for making and playing the flute. The flute kit has been expertly tuned and voiced. It features the pentatonic minor scale in the key of A. The finger hole spacing makes this a great key for new flute players with small to medium sized hands. Children can play this key with supervision. 

The two include blocks both have the precisely routed groove in the bottom. The small flat block base is ideal for gluing objects to. Consider attaching a carving, a small piece of driftwood, a gemstone, or a small sculpture to this block to adorn your new flute!

The larger carving block is shaped in such a way that it will not impede the air flow of the block and it is large enough that you can carve many interesting things out of it.

What’s involved in making a Pre Tuned Flute Kit?

(Please note that carving tools, sandpaper, and finish are not included)

-Use a hand held carving tool such as a small hand plane to round and shape the flute.

-Finish the shaping process with course 60 grit sandpaper

- Hand sand the flute with grits 80, 100, 150, 180,and 220

- Apply your desired finish to the outside of the flute, the slow air chamber is fully sealed already.

-carve your block avoiding the groove

- apply desired finish to the block

-Enjoy your new flute!

All of our six hole Native American style flute kits are produced in the same careful way as our Premiere, and Basic flutes. They are carefully tuned and fully playable when you get them. Choose an unshaped block or one of seven animal silhouettes. Simple instructions are included. These kit blocks have a 7/16 groove that is suitable for all three keys of our pre tuned kit as well as our Basic flutes and our Premiere flutes in the keys of A, G, F#, F, E ,and D. Choose between our various animal shaped blocks or our unshaped block.
