Look no further to take home a piece of the Pacific Northwest with this Native American Style F flute made of local madrone wood. This hard and durable wood lends a clear and full quality to the voice of the flute. This wood has a lovely subtle grain pattern. With wood donated to Stellar Flutes by our dear friend Julian at Cambium Treeworks and chainsaw milled by Lily, we assure you this one has a story worth telling.

Our Native American style F flutes have a full and low voice. Scroll through the photos to find a video and listen to the flute for yourself! I think you will agree, they sound amazing. They are made in a 1 inch bore diameter which is larger around than our A, G, and F# flutes. They are also longer at 23 ½ inches and have a finger hole spacing that is more difficult to reach than our higher pitched flutes. That makes this key of flute better suited for someone who has some prior flute playing experience. If you can comfortably play a  G flute or  F# flute and the spacing of the lowest three holes doesn’t bother your hands, you will likely be able to play our F flutes with no issues. As always, if you receive a flute that is too large to play, we are happy to help you exchange for a smaller key, so you can buy with the confidence of knowing that we have you covered!

Measurements

This flute has a 1 inch bore diameter and is about 25 inches long, about 10 and 1/4 inches from the mouth end to the first fingering hole. The fingering holes are clustered in groups of three to make them easier to reach. The first set of holes are are about 1 1/8 inches apart from center to center the second set are about 1 1/4 inches apart.

Is This The Right Flute For Me?

About Native American style flutes in the key of F

Native American style flutes in the key of F have a deep and haunting voice. They have the same fingering hole placement as our F# flutes, but they are made in a 1 inch bore diameter rather then a 7/8 inch. This makes them a little more difficult to play, so they might not be a good choice for someone who is just learning to play the flute.
