Douglas Fir key of E Flute - 6335

This flute is made from a bright orange piece of our Washington native Douglas fir wood. It has a lovely bold grain pattern. Fir is technically a softwood (because the tree has needles rather than leaves) but it is quite hard and durable. I consider it to be right in between an hard and soft wood. It has the resonance of a softwood, but the durability of a hardwood.

This flute is made from FSC certified wood.  FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

Measurements

This flute has a 1 inch bore diameter and is about 26 inches long, about 11 and 1/2 inches from the mouth end to the middle of the first fingering hole. The holes are about 1 1/4 inches apart from center to center.
