This beautiful soft wood flute is made of a dark brown piece of western red cedar. The grain is very interesting on this flute with dark stripes running through it. This is a lightweight flute and care should be taken not to dent it. Because it is light in weight it has a wonderful resonant vibration that you can feel as you play the flute. It's a voice is strong and deep with a smoky quality to it.

Measurements

The low D is about 26 inches long with a 1 1/8 inch bore diameter. It’s about 11 ¼ inches from the mouth end to the middle of the first fingering hole, and the fingering holes are 1 ¼ inches apart from center to center but are clustered in groups of three to make them easier to play. There is a nearly a 2 inch gap between the top three holes and the bottom three holes.
