Poplar in the key of D -#4526

$305.00

Low stock: 2 items left

This flute is made from a colorful piece of poplar. This medium weight hardwood has a smooth finish and dense straight grain. Though this is technically a hardwood, I consider it to be somewhere in between, it is lighter in weight than walnut or maple, but harder and heavier than cedar. It has a lovely resonant voice while being a little more durable than the softer wood flutes.

This flute is made from FSC certified wood.  FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

Measurements

The low D is about 26 inches long with a 1 1/8 inch bore diameter. It’s about 11 ¼ inches from the mouth end to the middle of the first fingering hole, and the fingering holes are 1 ¼ inches apart from center to center but are clustered in groups of three to make them easier to play. There is a nearly a 2 inch gap between the top three holes and the bottom three holes.

Is This The Right Flute For Me?
