This Drone Native American style flute is made from a warm brown piece of western red cedar with matching blocks and plug. This drone has a low and soothing voice.
The fingering holes are on the right side of the flute and the optional Drone hole is on the left side. This might make it easier for flute players who have their left hand on the bottom to play the optional drone side hole.
This flute is 23 1/2 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide. It has a 7/8 inch bore diameter.
The first fingering hole is 10 3/4 inches down from the mouth end.
The top three fingering holes are spaced 1 inch center to center, the lowest three fingering holes are spaced 1 1/4 inches and 1 1/2 inches apart.

Native American Drone flutes, sometimes called "double" flutes, are just that, THey are two flutes that are joined together. One side player like a normal flute and the other side plays one or more harmony notes. All of our drones have two blowholes so you can play as a single flute or play both sides together. They also feature an optional drone side hole with an included decorative plug so you can have two different options for harmony notes.
Drone flutes are harder to play because they require more air (two slow air chambers!) and they are wider than normal native flutes. This flute would be best suited to someone who has a little experience playing Native flutes, or someone who has played other instruments.
