This flute is made out of a piece of Redwood that was salvaged from a 100 year old bridge. This soft wood is fairly dense feeling, which is unusual for redwood which is usually featherlight. It is still a more delicate wood and should be protected from dents. This flute's voice is deep and resonant with a smoky quality.

Measurements

This flute is 29 3/4 inches long with a 1 1/4 inch bore diameter. It's 13 inches from the mouth end to the center of the first fingering hole. The fingering holes are clustered in sets of three to make them easier to play, with the first set being spaced 1 1/4 inches apart center to center and the second set being 1 1/2 inches apart center to center. there is a 2 inch gap between the first cluster of holes and the second.
