Redwood in the key of A - #2314

This beautiful Redwood flute is made out of a piece of wood that was salvaged from 100 year old bridge. The wood is ancient, we don't know how old it is. It has a bold grain pattern.  This particular flute came out ever so slightly odd in in the shape around where the tie is placed on the backside. The wood sanded away faster in one spot than another creating a slight oval effect. It’s barely visible to the eye but you can feel it if you know where to feel. Its voice is surprisingly clear and bright for such a soft wood.

Measurements

This flute is about 21 ½ inches long, 9 ½ inches from the mouth end to first hole, and the holes are 1 inch apart center to center.
